Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to support the Effectors portfolio, maximizing throughput, improving efficiency, and delivering value to the customer on site.

You will apply labor performance analyses, value stream mapping, line balancing, capacity planning, and factory layouts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and successful integration of new products and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with minimum 2 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline
• Experience applying industrial engineering tools and methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance

Responsibilities

• Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show production processes, material movement, information flow, and KPIs
• Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
• Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment
• Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects addressing obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth
• Support new production contracts and product integration efforts
