Job summary

Washington Gas seeks a Sr. Advisor, Incident & Emergency Management to strengthen emergency preparedness, incident response, and operational resilience.

You will lead and support programs, provide expertise during significant incidents, and partner with Operations, Engineering, Security, Regulatory Affairs, and leadership to ensure readiness. The role demands 8–10 years in emergency management, with ICS/EOC experience, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in emergency management, utility or industrial operations, public safety, crisis management, or business continuity.
• Experience in ICS and EOC environments; ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of Washington Gas's Incident & Emergency Management program.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, procedures, playbooks, tools, and supporting documentation.
• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to leadership on emergency preparedness and response strategies.
• Coordinate and support response activities during emergencies, severe weather, security events, and infrastructure disruptions.
• Lead emergency exercises, tabletop simulations, drills, and readiness assessments; manage after-action reviews and lessons learned.
