Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer in the Implant Department to support ion implantation equipment and process capability. You will help maintain high-current/medium-current/high-energy implanters while driving improvements in quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of semiconductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Implant or Anneal processes and equipment preferred.
• 300mm Implant/Anneal Experience highly desired.
• Familiarity with listed equipment (AMAT/NISSIN/Axcelis) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Practice 6S in the office and fab, prioritizing safety.
• Assist technicians with daily workload and sustainment in the fab.
• Develop recovery plans for abnormalities and long tool downs.
• Document daily tool activities for learning and spread.
• Follow SOPs and improve processes for efficiency.
• Maintain trainings and certifications up to date.
• Collaborate with vendor support and coordinate tool work.
• Develop cost- and time-saving project ideas for tool reliability.
• Interact with other departments on device performance and risk mitigation.
• Apply TPM concepts and LEAN tools for long-term issue prevention.
• Manage process qualifications for new devices and tool installs.
• Standardize tool sensors across similar toolsets.
• Analyze alarms/interlocks to identify mechanical/electrical issues.
• Support manufacturing throughput by optimizing tool recipes and run-paths.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 high-volume environment.
