Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer in the Implant Department to support ion implantation equipment, improving quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. The role emphasizes safety, learning, and continuous improvement in a 24/7 high‑volume fab environment.

Qualifications include a BS in a related engineering field and 5+ years semiconductor experience with implant/anneal processes; familiarity with high-end implanters and supporting tools is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of semiconductor experience with Implant or Anneal, preferred.
  • 3xxmm Implant/Anneal experience highly desired.
  • Familiar with equipment: AMAT VIISta HCP/Trident, NISSIN Exceed3000AH/EVO2, Axcelis ParadigmXE.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Able to read/interpret engineering specs and maintenance manuals; familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in high‑volume manufacturing cleanroom wearing protective clothing.

Responsibilities

  • Practice 6S in the office and fab.
  • Keep safety as the number 1 priority in all tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce safety risks in procedures and daily ops.
  • Support daily workload and sustaining activities for technicians.
  • Develop and schedule recovery plans for known abnormalities and long tool downs.
  • Collaborate with other departments on projects to improve device performance and mitigate risks.
