Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Equipment Engineer in the Implant Department to support ion implantation equipment and processes. You will help maintain state-of-the-art tooling while driving quality, efficiency, and defect reduction in a 24/7 environment.

Safety, learning, and teamwork are prioritized. The role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years of semiconductor experience with ion implantation, and familiarity with AMAT VIISta toolsets.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years semiconductor experience with ion implantation.
• Familiarity with AMAT VIISta HCP and VIISta Trident toolsets.

Responsibilities

• Practice 6S in the office and fab; safety first.
• Assist technicians with daily workload and sustaining activities in the fab.
• Develop and schedule recovery plans for known abnormalities and long tool downs.
• Document daily tool activities and share learnings via our systems.
• Follow and improve SOPs/recovery plans.
• Manage and collaborate with vendor support.
• Develop project ideas and spread Best Known Methods for cost/particle/uptime improvements.
• Interact with other departments on device performance improvements and risk mitigation.
• Utilize TPM and LEAN tools to implement long-term preventive solutions.
• Manage process qualifications for new devices and tool installs.
• Standardize tool sensors across tools in similar toolsets.
• Analyze data to identify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Willingness to work in 24/7 high-volume manufacturing.
