Job summary
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Equipment Engineer to support 300mm tool equipment and process capabilities for the Implant department. You will help keep tools running at peak efficiency, drive yield improvements, and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives in a 24×7 FAB environment.
You will lead new tool qualification, standardize SOPs, and coordinate maintenance with the manufacturing team.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of semiconductor experience with knowledge of RTP or Surface Treatment/Dry Etch processes and equipment.
- Experience with tool installation, setup, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor real-time tool performance; identify and resolve issues (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, defects).
- Respond to alarms and perform recovery plans with technicians.
- Use data analysis to identify root causes and inform processing decisions.
- Lead new tool qualification.
- Schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance and downtime with the manufacturing team.
- Document and revise SOPs; record daily tool activity and lessons learned.
