Job summary

Moderna seeks a Sr. Research Associate to join the Infectious Disease Research Immunology team. You will design, execute, and optimize antibody binding and functional serological assays to characterize humoral responses across preclinical models and clinical samples.

You will contribute to assay development across ELISA, Luminex, MSD, and Octet, support epitope mapping, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance mRNA therapies and vaccines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in immunology, microbiology, vaccinology or related field.
• Hands-on experience with ligand binding assays and designing/ executing assays with increasing independence.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving scientific needs.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Execute and optimize antibody binding assays across platforms (ELISA, Luminex, MSD, Octet).
• Design, develop and perform competitive and capture ligand binding assays.
• Perform functional serological assays including blockade and enzyme inhibition.
• Conduct epitope-specific enrichment and depletion studies.
• Maintain mammalian cell cultures and develop cell-based assays.
• Analyze data using GraphPad Prism and interpret results.
• Prepare data-driven presentations and reports for team meetings.
• Manage multiple experiments and projects with cross-functional collaboration.
• Support automation of routine assays and AI-enabled workflows where applicable.
