Job summary

Moderna Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the Clinical Biomarker Laboratory (CBL) Immunoassay and Cell Based Assay group in Norwood, MA. You will develop and execute cell-based and ligand-binding assays to support vaccine clinical development and biomarker endpoints.

The role requires hands-on mammalian cell culture, functional immunoassays, data analysis, and rigorous documentation in a GLP/GCP-regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
• 2–5 years of clinical laboratory experience in pharma or CROs.
• Experience generating and documenting regulated clinical bioanalytical data per GxP.
• Hands-on experience with ligand-binding immunoassays (ELISA, MSD).
• Experience with virus neutralization or functional antibody assays.
• Strong mammalian cell culture and functional bioassay troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of data management and CDISC data formats.
• GLP/CAP/CLIA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review assay methods, qualification/validation plans, and reports for regulated bioanalysis.
• Analyze assay data, identify trends, and support interpretation with biostatisticians.
• Perform clinical sample testing with strict chain-of-custody and data traceability.
• Execute ligand-binding assays for immunogenicity and biomarker endpoints.
• Run neutralization/functional antibody assays using validated platforms.
• Maintain mammalian cell culture systems and cell banking.
• Develop/validate/transfer cell-based and virus neutralization assays for vaccine programs.
• Lead quality data standards per GLP/ICH/GCP and assist QA audits.
• Coordinate document control, SOP updates, and master schedule.
