Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an IRL Technologist to perform donor and patient testing, interpret results for donor-recipient compatibility, and support hospitals and transfusion services. You will resolve complex serologic problems and perform manufacturing duties for special blood products where applicable.

Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:30pm–12am. Qualified candidates will have MT(ASCP), a biology/chemistry degree, and at least 3 years of related experience or an ASCP MLT

Qualifications

• MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in blood banking preferred or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Resolving compatibility problems and providing reference and consultation to hospitals and transfusion services.
• Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samples.
• Managing receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of donor and patient blood samples; documenting issues.
