Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking an IRL Technologist to perform donor and patient testing, interpret results, and provide problem-solving support to hospitals and transfusion services. You will resolve compatibility issues, conduct automated and manual procedures, and ensure proper handling of samples and reagents.

Qualifications include MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) certification and a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or Chemistry, with at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Requires MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) certification with appropriate degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Resolve compatibility problems and provide reference and consultation to hospitals and transfusion services.
• Perform automated and manual test procedures on blood samples.
• Manage receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of donor and patient blood samples.
• Maintain reagent inventory including ordering and inspection.
• Identify testing irregularities and assist other Medical Technologists.
