Job summary

Moderna is seeking an Associate Director for Immuno-Oncology Research in Cambridge, MA. You will lead a team focused on emerging T cell engager and in vivo cell therapy programs, guiding strategy from target assessment through preclinical development with an emphasis on tumor and immune cell biology.

The role requires strong leadership of scientists, cross‑functional collaboration across Therapeutics Research and Development, and rigorous experimental decision‑making.

Qualifications

• PhD with 7+ years post‑PhD experience in immuno‑oncology or related biology.
• Experience leading scientists and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong translational and in vivo research experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and people leadership for 1–2 scientist leads across TCE and in vivo cell therapy programs.
• Lead programs from concept through mechanism studies and preclinical readiness.
• Define hypotheses and strategies integrating tumor biology and immune cell biology.
• Guide in vitro/in vivo study design to assess potency, safety, and mechanism.
• Collaborate with engineering, translational sciences, and external partners to advance programs.
