Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer in Cambridge, MA to lead SRE initiatives. You will mentor teams, partner with Engineering, Operations and Product, and apply statistical data analysis to improve performance and reliability across our platform and products.
Requirements include 8+ years in computer science, a Bachelor's degree, strong analytical skills, and experience coding in Python, Perl, SQL, Java, C or R, plus knowledge of DNS/HTTP/TLS/TCP.

Our team uses large datasets to analyze and measure the performance and reliability of our platform. We are networking data scientists: we combine our knowledge of data analysis, networking and distributed systems to define key performance indicators for our platform, determine how different factors impact them, and devise opportunities for improvement.

In this role, you'll apply statistical data analysis and an understanding of networking protocols to diagnose and solve some of the Internet's most difficult content delivery challenges. Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only – the base salary for this position ranges from $146,400 - $263,600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
