Job summary

dawarconsulting is seeking a Pathobiology Specialist/Research Associate III in Foster City, CA, to drive tissue-based assay development and validation for drug discovery. The role requires hands-on IHC, histology, and antibody optimization experience within a life sciences setting.

The ideal candidate will plan and execute experiments, troubleshoot assays, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver robust scientific results for preclinical programs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in a relevant life sciences field.
• Strong hands-on experience with IHC, histology, tissue handling, and assay/method development.
• Experience with antibody optimization/validation and assay troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated support for drug discovery, preclinical research, or target validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate IHC and CISH assays and antibody reagents.
• Perform and troubleshoot IHC/histology assays using human and animal tissues.
• Develop tissue-based endpoints to support drug discovery, target identification, and validation.
• Plan and independently execute experiments, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and provide scientific recommendations.
• Identify and implement improvements to IHC/histology workflows, technologies, and throughput.
• Collaborate with internal research teams, CROs, and external partners.
• Present scientific findings and recommendations to cross-functional and senior leadership teams.
