Job summary

First National Technology Solutions (FNTS) seeks a Sr IBM iSeries Engineer to maintain IBM i environments, plan migrations, and support BRMS/MIMIX/iTera. This remote role covers US-based work with no sponsorship offered.

You will work with a managed services team on outages, backups, OS upgrades, and documentation, ensuring secure, reliable system operation and ongoing customer support.

Qualifications

• IBM iSeries admin experience (10+ years)
• i/OS knowledge from V5R4 to V7R3
• POWER systems hardware knowledge
• LPARs configured via HMC
• Storage in JBOD/RAID/SAN; performance differences
• Printer configurations troubleshooting
• TCP/IP config in IPv4 environment (IPv6 desired)
• BRMS, MIMIX, iTera, PowerHA experience
• Self-motivated; able to work independently; good communication

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and requests with in-depth analysis and solutions
• Support proactive issue avoidance as part of Continuous Improvement
• Perform reporting functions as required by customer
• DR Testing/Planning, OS upgrades, PTF deployment
• Maintain IBM i OS and LPPs; manage system backups
• Write and maintain system documentation
• Assist migration to FNTS or remote management setup
• Implement roadmap-driven technologies; leverage Live Partition Mobility
• Install OS/major subsystem releases with customer coordination
• Maintain golden/sandbox templates
• Participate as IBM i SME in technical projects
