Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Uber Tech Lead) for Identity & Access Management within Platform. Own the end-to-end technical strategy unifying workforce, AI agent, and service/workload identity under a common model with governance.

You will drive architecture across pods, set standards, and influence 700+ systems to secure and streamline access across the organization. This is a remote-first, hybrid-friendly role with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering leadership on multi-team platform.
• Deep IAM expertise across workforce/workload identity and access lifecycle.
• Production Go experience with AWS and identity protocols.
• Influence at senior levels to align on access-risk problems.
• Translate audit/regulatory requirements into automated controls.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year IAM technical strategy and architecture.
• Drive adoption across 700+ systems and teams.
• Define sequencing, migration paths, and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Partner with Security, Compliance, IT, Infra and product leadership.
• Lead data modeling for access governance and privilege reduction.
• Mentor staff and expand identity domain depth.
