Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Uber Tech Lead) for Identity & Access Management within Platform. You will own the multi-year IAM strategy that unifies workforce, AI agent, and service identity across 700+ systems, setting architecture and adoption standards across teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team alignment, and translate audit requirements into automated controls to improve security, governance, and efficiency for the platform.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with senior leadership on multi-team platforms.
• Deep IAM expertise across workforce identity and service/workload identity.
• Production Go experience and distributed systems design on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year IAM strategy end-to-end across many teams and systems.
• Define architecture standards, review bars, and integration contracts for IAM.
• Lead adoption strategy for 700+ internal systems and guide build-vs-buy decisions.
• Translate audit/regulatory requirements into automated controls and evidence.
• Mentor staff and raise depth of identity as a domain.
