Job summary

Williams is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Operations Technician II-Sr. to join a safety‑minded team. You’ll maximize equipment reliability, mentor teammates, and lead major system upgrades across assigned facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma and 3+ years in the energy industry, with experience in Allen‑Bradley PLCs. You’ll work after hours, travel between Williams locations, and apply problem‑solving to improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum of three (3) years' experience in operations, engineering, or the energy industry.
• Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and minimum five (5) years' experience in operations, engineering, or the energy industry.
• Preferred: Five (5) years of Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) experience with troubleshooting, calibration and maintenance, plus low-voltage work.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex maintenance and operational tasks with all natural gas process equipment and systems.
• Minimizes unplanned shutdowns through root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Partners with supervisors to share findings, root causes, and resolutions to improve safety.
• Maintains process control systems and instruments to improve reliability.
• Defines instrumentation specifications for new projects with project managers.
• Serves as subject matter expert for instrumentation, electrical, PLC, and control systems.
• Leads major system upgrades, control system integrations, and commissioning efforts.
• Mentors technicians and drives continuous improvement in instrumentation and automation.
• Other duties as assigned.
