Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an experienced Designer to join the Professional Engineering Consulting team in Arlington or Houston, TX. The role requires hands-on leadership for complex deliverables while supporting project execution under the Design Supervisor and Engineering Manager.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in power distribution or controls design, extensive AutoCAD/CADWorx/Navisworks proficiency, and strong collaboration with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in power distribution or controls systems design.
• All qualified candidates will be required to complete an in-person, computer-based assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop orthographic plan and layout drawings from 2D and 3D models for installation of power and control systems.
• Produce detailed installation drawings for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Size cabinets, panelboards, cables, cable tray, and conduit.
• Prepare one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams for power and control systems.
• Demonstrate experience producing construction-ready electrical and control system documentation.
• Apply established quality control processes and checklists.
