Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services seeks an experienced Designer to join the Professional Engineering Consulting team in Arlington or Houston, TX. The role requires hands-on leadership for complex deliverables while supporting project execution under the Design Supervisor and Engineering Manager.

You will develop 3D models, create detailed drawings, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure constructability and compliance with client standards.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in civil-structural systems design.
• All qualified candidates will be required to complete an in-person, computer-based assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D models of foundation and structural steel systems using CADWorx Plant/CADWorx Structure (2020 or later).
• Produce detailed design drawings from engineering calculations, specifications, and conceptual sketches.
• Independently generate and update 3D structural models and 2D engineering drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with engineering and design disciplines to ensure proper model integration and design accuracy.
• Participate in 3D model coordination activities, including clash detection and interface resolution.
• Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction personnel, and equipment suppliers to ensure design compatibility.
• Assist Discipline Engineers in reviewing structural steel shop fabrication drawings for compliance.
• Utilize Navisworks for 3D model navigation, clash detection, and reviews.
• Maintain models and drawing documentation per standards.
• Prepare and manage project documentation and material quantity calculations.
