Job summary

Quanta Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Designer to join the Professional Engineering Consulting team in Arlington or Houston, TX.

You will lead hands-on I&E design in a multi-discipline environment, delivering construction-ready documents and ensuring compliance with NEC, ANSI/ISA-5.1-2022, and API-RP500. The role requires a strong technical background, at least ten years in power distribution or controls design, and proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx, Navisworks.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in power distribution or controls design.
• Must pass an in-person, computer-based assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and locate electrical and instrumentation equipment within 3D models using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks.
• Design site-specific power distribution and control systems per standards.
• Prepare design drawings and sketches to support construction, cost estimates, and field activities.
• Produce installation drawings and one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams.
• Coordinate I&E design requirements with multi-discipline project teams and perform QA/QC reviews.
