Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an experienced Designer to join the Professional Engineering Consulting team in Arlington or Houston, Texas. Lead complex I&E design deliverables under supervision, coordinating with engineers and multi-disciplinary teams.

You will develop 2D/3D orthographic plans, size electrical equipment, prepare wiring diagrams, and ensure compliance with NEC, ISA-5.1-2022, and API-RP500 standards. In-person assessment required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in power distribution or controls systems design.
• All qualified candidates will be required to complete an in-person, computer-based assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop orthographic plan and layout drawings from 2D and 3D models for installation of power and control systems.
• Produce detailed installation drawings for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Size cabinets, panelboards, cables, cable tray, and conduit.
• Prepare one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams for power and control systems.
• Coordinate I&E design requirements with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Review drawings from other disciplines to ensure coordination.
• Review RFIs and vendor drawings for compatibility with I&E design.
