Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an experienced Designer to join the Professional Engineering Consulting team in Arlington or Houston, Texas. This role requires hands-on leadership for complex deliverables under the Design Supervisor and Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include developing 3D models, producing detailed drawings, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring design accuracy throughout project lifecycles. Strong CADWorx/Navisworks and AutoCAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in civil-structural systems design.
• All qualified candidates will be required to complete an in-person, computer-based assessment.
• Minimum of five (5) years of current experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
• Detailed knowledge of codes and standards: ACI 318, AISC, OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D models of foundation and structural steel systems using CADWorx Plant/Structure.
• Produce detailed design drawings for IFA/IFB/IFC/As-Built deliverables.
• Coordinate with design disciplines for model integration and accuracy.
• Participate in 3D model coordination activities, including clash detection.
• Interface with stress/pipe support engineers and construction personnel to ensure constructability.
