Job summary

Clean Harbors in Deer Park, TX is seeking a Senior I&E Control Specialist to lead the control system lifecycle across sites. You will own DCS/PLC/SIS modifications, improve reliability, and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities include leading MOC activities, implementing control strategies, and collaborating with site I&E teams to deliver upgrades, migrations, and cybersecurity improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation or related engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive control system experience in continuous process industries.
• Hands-on experience with ABB 800xA and INFI 90/Symphony systems and lifecycle support.
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical and control narratives, and control strategies.
• Willingness to travel ~25% and lead technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, environmental compliance, and MOC activities for all automation modifications.
• Own reliability, availability, and performance of DCS, PLC, SIS, HMI, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, implement preventive maintenance, and reduce downtime.
• Develop and optimize control strategies, alarms, interlocks, and sequencing.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for control systems, OT networks, and cybersecurity issues.
• Lead lifecycle management, roadmaps, obsolescence planning, and software upgrades.
• Manage assets, vendor relations, and total cost of ownership.
• Maintain accurate documentation: P&IDs, loop drawings, narratives, and network diagrams.
