Job summary

OxyChem, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking an experienced Process Control Engineer for our Deer Park, Texas facility. You will protect health and the environment while delivering reliable controls across DCS/SIS and PLC platforms.

The ideal candidate holds a engineering degree and 5–20 years of DCS/SIS/PLC experience, plus familiarity with DeltaV, SAP and PI systems. You will work with multiple disciplines to design, implement and maintain advanced process control solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
5–20 years of DCS/SIS/PLC design, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience.
High proficiency in Microsoft applications and strong English communication.
Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts as needed.
Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and wear PPE including respirator.

Responsibilities

Maintain protection of the environment and safety as highest priority.
Provide expertise in Process Control Engineering as a corporate expert.
Prepare scopes, estimates and schedules for control system projects.
Coordinate control tasks with engineering disciplines for project success.
Assist with configuration, installation, and maintenance of DCS/SIS, PLCs, and historians.
Develop programming documentation for hazard analyses and reviews.
Support DCS operations and performance improvements.
Oversee field construction and commissioning of DCS/PLC equipment.
