Job summary

INEOS Phenol is seeking an experienced automation professional to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of its DCS/PLC control systems, ESD, Data Historian, and Alarm Management. You will develop control strategies, tune loops, configure interlocks, and ensure cybersecurity of automation assets.

The role requires strong communication with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, plus ability to work across departments on large TARs and projects.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering with 5+ years in industrial environment.
• AAS Technical Degree with 10+ years in industrial electrical, instrumentation & process controls.
• In-depth knowledge of control theory, PID and advanced control strategies.
• Experience with DCS/SCADA, ESD, and safety instrumented systems.
• Familiarity with alarm management, data historians and cyber security tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, implement, test, and document reliable control networks (DCS/PLC, ESD, Data Historian, Alarm Management).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and testing plans for automation hardware and safety interlocks.
• Coordinate with maintenance and operations to schedule activities without impacting operations.
• Provide training on automated systems and support management of change processes.
