Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an experienced Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in Houston to drive EPC projects from FEED through commissioning. You will lead the design team, oversee PDP packages, and evaluate technology for mid-stream NG/NGL, CO2, and power applications.

Strong leadership, safety, and client-management skills are essential. You will coordinate I&C deliverables, review vendor documentation, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with ISA/IEEE standards and company

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Instrumentation and Controls Systems Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related ABET-accredited program and FE exam passed.
15 years engineering experience with EPC project exposure; controls and automation focus.
Familiarity with OSHA 1910.119 PSM, ANSI/ISA-61511, and related standards.
Knowledge of ISA S88, IEC 61131, and MOC concepts.
TWIC credential or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Lead the design team through EPC, adapting I&C plans to budget, schedule and standards.
Oversee process studies, technology evaluations, and development through detailed design to commissioning.
Provide leadership and mentoring for engineers and project staff.
Manage client and team relationships to ensure PDP soundness and client objectives.
Prepare submittals, proposals and assist in contract negotiations.
Coordinate quality reviews of I&C deliverables and supplier documentation.
Lead I&C data sheets, instrument indexes, wiring diagrams, and control system design.
