Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to own sensor selection and automated data acquisition across benchtop to facility-scale equipment. You will develop LabVIEW programs and integrate headless cRIO/PXI with the SCADA layer, collaborating with manufacturing, test, quality, safety, and product owners to meet demanding propulsion system requirements.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in engineering; Mechatronics/chemical/mechanical preferred.
• 5+ years in test/process system design or related role.
• Experience developing headless cRIO/PXI systems and LabVIEW with non-NI hardware.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design safety-first systems handling hazardous fluids, powders, and high-energy components.
• Lead instrumentation selection across test applications and integration with SCADA.
• Develop headless cRIO/PXI systems connected to Siemens PLCs and SCADA layers.
• Create LabVIEW programs for validation and development operations with PLCs.
• Produce operator manuals, work instructions, and standards documentation.
