Job summary

Ursa Major is hiring a Controls Engineer II (PLC) to design, implement, and validate automated equipment for propulsion production. You will work on PLC programming, electrical schematics, instrumentation, and P&ID design from concept to validation.

You will collaborate across Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Safety, and product teams, handling hazardous materials, high pressures and voltages, and ensuring safe, robust equipment delivery.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in engineering; mechatronic/chemical/mechanical preferred.
• Experience designing single/multi-axis motion systems.
• Experience with PLCs (Siemens S7 or other).
• Experience developing systems for personnel-operated and unattended equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and validate automated production equipment.
• Integrate motion systems and third-party solutions to control platforms.
• Connect PLC-based equipment into SCADA layers.
• Generate electrical schematics, P&ID, and operator manuals.
