Job summary

Qualifications

• B.S. or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field with a strong programming background.
• 12+ years of relevant engineering experience; 8+ years of experience with LabVIEW; 5+ years of experience with Actor Framework; 8+ years of experience designing and debugging low‑voltage electrical systems.
• Strong proficiency in object‑oriented programming fundamentals and languages such as Python or C++.
• Experience working within Linux and Windows environments.
• Proven ability to lead teams, communicate complex ideas effectively, and manage time proactively with a detail‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design, strategic planning, and development of control and measurement applications used in propulsion testing.
• Mentor and coach engineering team members, providing technical guidance and fostering collaboration, safety, and excellence.
• Design, develop, integrate, and troubleshoot software in NI LabVIEW (including LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Real‑Time).
• Architect and manage hardware‑software interfaces for sensors and control mechanisms (e.g., transducers, valves, VFDs).
• Familiarity with NI PXIe (R‑Series), NI cRIO, DAQmx, and LV FPGA.
• Establish, enforce, and ensure compliance with rigorous software development standards and best practices.
• Oversee integration of test/measurement instruments and implementation of communication protocols (VISA, TCP/IP, serial).
• Act as a champion for safety and long‑term system reliability across testing and development operations.
