Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineering (EICE) group seeks a Senior I&C Systems Engineer to develop LabVIEW-based data acquisition, monitoring, and control solutions for enrichment systems and testbeds in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

You will design, fabricate, integrate, and commission mission-critical software components, mentor teammates, and ensure safety, reliability, and performance while complying with security requirements.

Qualifications

BS degree or higher in Software, Electrical, Computer engineering, or closely related field.
8+ years in industrial monitoring/control or high‑performance data acquisition with LabVIEW.
Experience leading software development projects and collaborating with dev teams.
Proficiency in LabVIEW patterns, modular programming, and software architecture.
Experience with real‑time embedded targets (CompactRIO/PXI/sbRIO) and SI hardware.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize LabVIEW software for data acquisition and control.
Lead design and deployment of real-time monitoring solutions for safe, reliable operations.
Manage software products through requirements, design, testing, and configuration control.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate requirements into software designs.
Develop DAQ hardware concepts including interfaces, sensor selection, timing, and conditioning.
Produce technical documentation and verification procedures; support field deployment.
