Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer to lead instrumentation and control design for utility-scale power projects. You’ll specification, design, and implement DCS/PLC/SCADA solutions and drive commissioning for large energy facilities.

Join a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative energy projects with a strong focus on health, safety, and client outcomes. This role offers hybrid work across Jacobs offices nationwide in the United States.

Qualifications

10+ years of design, consulting, or operations experience.
Experience leading multi-person teams of engineers and designers.
Ability to lead instrument specification and control system architecture development.
PE license or ability to obtain within one year.
Strong client engagement and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare specifications and drawings; write control system descriptions; perform startup and commissioning.
Specify instrumentation such as pressure and flow transmitters, switches, and control valves.
Design and implement DCS/PLC, SCADA, and HMI graphics and operation sequences.
Develop SCADA and OT networks, including DCS, PLCs, servers/workstations, switches and firewalls.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on large projects to integrate control concepts.
Support proposals and client relationship building for new projects.
Select and troubleshoot field process instruments.
Demonstrate strong communication and ability to work in fast-paced consulting environments.
Drive health & safety ownership in project execution and operations.
