Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer to lead instrumentation and control design for utility-scale power projects and campus upgrades. You will prepare specifications, select instruments, design SCADA/OT networks, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable energy solutions.

You should have 10+ years in design/consulting, strong communication, and the ability to manage multi-person teams while advancing health and safety on projects. Hybrid work policy applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of design, consulting, or operations experience.
• Ability to lead multi-person teams of engineers and designers to deliver projects.
• 10 years of experience in instrument specification, PLC or DCS control systems, P&ID development, control system architecture development, SCADA systems and networks.
• Experience with industrial DCS or PLC logic development, graphics development, and hardware implementation (Allen Bradley PLC, Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000 or GE Mark VIe preferred).
• Experience commissioning of Control systems, including troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to maintain high availability of Control systems
• Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain PE license within one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, perform startup and commissioning activities.
• Specify instrumentation such as pressure and flow transmitters, switches, and control valves for large power projects.
• Design SCADA and OT networks including DCS, PLCs, servers/workstations, switches and firewalls.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on large projects to integrate control concepts.
• Contribute to proposals and client relationships and business development efforts.
