Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a junior to mid-level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design, specify, and deliver I&C solutions for utility-scale energy projects. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across geographies to develop control drawings, descriptions, and startup activities.

The role supports energy and power projects with opportunities across markets Jacobs serves. A PE license or the ability to obtain one within a year is preferred, and some office presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical engineering, or related field.
• At least 2 years of design, consulting, or operations experience.
• Ability to collaborate across geographies to deliver projects.
• Experience in instrument specification, PLC/DCS control systems, P&ID development, SCADA systems and networks.
• Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain PE within one year.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Availability to work at least 2 days/week in Jacobs offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work with project teams to prepare specifications and drawings, and write control system descriptions.
• Perform startup and commissioning activities for instrumentation and control systems.
• Specify instrumentation such as pressure and flow transmitters, switches, and control valves for large power projects.
• Design SCADA and OT networks including DCS/PLC, servers, switches, and firewalls.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on large, complex projects and contribute to proposals and client relations.
