RTX, in Carlsbad, California, seeks an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer to design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC systems for manufacturing operations onsite. You will develop and maintain control systems, calibrate instrumentation, and implement upgrades while collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in electrical/computer engineering with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years).

Qualifications

• Bachelors in electrical or computer engineering with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Minimum 2 years of PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Rockwell, or similar).
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and electrical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for access to program materials.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC systems to support manufacturing operations.
• Develop, test, and maintain control systems and instrumentation for manufacturing equipment.
• Integrate instrumentation and control systems with existing processes and machinery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges.
• Perform diagnostics and root-cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Calibrate instruments and control devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Design system upgrades, including hardware and software modifications for performance gains.
• Maintain detailed documentation of control systems, including PID and electrical schematics.
• Ensure safety standards, policies, and industry regulations are followed.
