Job summary

IFA Rotorion is seeking an experienced controls technician to troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled production machinery, including Siemens PLCs and 840D controllers. The role emphasizes diagnostic work, project-based upgrades, and collaboration with engineering and German-based representatives.

You will interpret schematics, support machine installation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a large manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an AS in engineering with equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment
• 2–4 years in machine building or automation troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and correct problems with high-volume automated production and CNC equipment (Siemens PLC, 840D controllers, drives, vision, servo systems).
• Lead projects related to improvements/upgrades of equipment and document via maintenance databases (Work Orders).
• Assist engineering personnel as needed and update equipment documentation.
• Complete miscellaneous assignments and collaborate with machine builders and colleagues from Germany.
• Interpret and modify electrical drawings/schematics; participate in installation/moves from a controls perspective.
• Contribute to cross-functional teams and provide technical support to manufacturing operations.
