Job summary
Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join the Nuclear Power Group in Cranberry Township, PA. You will design PLC/DCS systems, develop P&IDs and system descriptions, and mentor junior engineers on modern automation approaches.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years in process control design for nuclear plants and are adept at reviewing drawings and collaborating with clients. On-site work with opportunities for local site walkdowns and problem solving.
Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering for process controls.
- Experience with controls system design including LV/MV distribution and equipment controls.
- Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls for BWR/PWR reactors.
- Familiarity with reviewing design drawings.
Responsibilities
- Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure client satisfaction.
- Lead others in taking engineering problems from issue to solution using data and automation.
- Oversee engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate tasks with review of outputs.
- Support learning in Computer Science/AI to oversee automation-enabled workflows.
