AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear is seeking a Senior Instrumentation/Control Engineer to lead design and development of I&C systems for nuclear projects, including Small Modular Reactors. This remote role supports office locations in Oak Ridge, TN or Richland, WA, with strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across disciplines.

You will specify I&C components, prepare data sheets, validate control systems, and contribute to plant commissioning and field support while guiding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical or mechanical engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
• Experience in nuclear industry preferred. PE preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Mastered the in-depth knowledge and experience required in electrical design.
• Experience supporting Human Factors analysis of plant systems.
• Familiarity with Cyber Security requirements for nuclear facilities.
• Familiarity with the commissioning or tuning integrated plant control systems.
• Knowledge and proficiency in applying industry codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, EPRI, ANSI, ISA, IAEA).

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain instrumentation and control systems for nuclear facilities.
• Prepare calculations, data sheets, and I&C drawings; specify instruments and control elements.
• Provide I&C design support to construction teams in the field during commissioning.
• Develop validation/testing protocols for control systems and procedures.
• Interface with engineering disciplines, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
• Lead and coach junior I&C engineers; manage schedule and budget.
