Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity, aligned with our Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. You will design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems for nuclear and commercial energy projects.

You will collaborate with mechanical, nuclear, operations and electrical teams, ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, EPRI, and apply rigorous engineering judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience.
• Experience in nuclear industry highly desired.
• PE license highly desired.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Mastered in-depth knowledge of electrical design and standards IEEE IEC EPRI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Oversee design and analysis of safety and non-safety electrical systems for nuclear and commercial projects.
• Interface with mechanical, nuclear, operations and electrical teams for design collaboration.
• Ensure design complies with regulatory criteria and industry standards.
• Perform engineering calculations for code compliance (lighting, volt drop, conductor sizing, panel heat).
• Prepare wiring diagrams, single line drawings, loop diagrams, specifications and data sheets.
• Coordinate design documents and plant modifications with designers.
• Mentor junior colleagues and conduct quality reviews.
