Job summary

AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear seeks a Senior Instrumentation/Control Engineer to lead I&C design on nuclear projects, including Small Modular Reactors, from our Oak Ridge or Richland offices with remote flexibility.

You will develop control systems, specifications, and validation protocols, supervise junior engineers, coordinate with disciplines, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience in engineering.
• Experience in nuclear industry preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop I&C systems for nuclear projects (including SMRs).
• Prepare and review engineering documents, calculations, specs, diagrams, and data sheets.
• Coordinate with design teams and suppliers to select instruments and control elements.
• Provide I&C design support to construction teams in the field.
• Develop test protocols and validation plans for control systems.
• Guide and mentor junior I&C engineers and manage project tasks and schedules.
