Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary or controls-focused teams on mission-critical data center projects. You will develop design packages, Sequences of Operations, and P&IDs, coordinating with mechanical and electrical teams.

The role involves QA reviews, vendor management, and participation in software and factory tests, with travel up to 25% and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree with 7 years electrical engineering experience.
• Feasibility of FE exam completion or PE license preferred.
• Experience with large EPC projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of HVAC control systems and EPMS (PLC/DDC).
• Coordinate sequences of operations with MEP teams.
• Produce engineering drawings and BOMs for control panels.
• Review submittals and manage vendor contracts.
• Support commissioning and field tests at sites.
• Ensure safety policy compliance and quality assurance.
• Lead multi-consultant design meetings and mentor staff.
• Travel as required (up to 25%).
