Job summary

Reliant Critical Infrastructure in Houston, TX seeks a Controls & Integration Engineer III, Mechanical Focus to design, develop, and maintain advanced monitoring and control systems for mission-critical environments such as data centers.

You will work on BAS, SCADA, PLCs, and EPMS projects, producing design documents, resolving field issues, and training junior engineers while traveling up to 25% for out-of-town assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5-7 years of field experience, or associate degree with 10 years, or high school diploma with 15 years field experience.
• 5+ years’ experience designing and servicing control systems for chiller plants and data center environments.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical and control schematics.
• Experience with BAS startup, configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control system solutions for SCADA/Automation projects with design documents and system narratives.
• Perform requirements analysis and subsystem designs (CAD, panels, wiring, SCADA screens).
• Review third-party design documents for compliance and support large programs.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot controllers, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems.
• Assist in creating and updating testing and commissioning procedures and reports.
• Commission deployed systems and develop test equipment and simulations.
• Perform factory and field testing, maintenance, and upgrades of systems.
• Support cost estimation, scope review, and change order evaluations with senior engineers.
• Coordinate tasks and provide technical direction to junior staff.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections for project planning.
