Job summary

HDR seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Design Lead in the greater Denver area to guide a team delivering I&C designs for water and wastewater projects. You will supervise staff, coordinate multi-project workloads, and ensure quality through the full project lifecycle, including field deployment and commissioning.

The role requires senior expertise in automation hardware and software, collaboration with OT/Systems teams, and active participation in business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in I&C design for water/wastewater.
• Professional registration or licensure may be required based on role.
• Experience leading technical teams on design projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of professionals and technicians in developing I&C designs for water, wastewater, and other clients using industrial control systems.
• Supervise workload management, annual performance reviews, and training/mentorship.
• Coordinate team workload and schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
• Lead production of I&C and industrial control projects through full lifecycle including design and construction support.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for SCADA/I&C construction documents and wiring diagrams.
• Write and edit instrumentation and controls systems specifications and select instruments and devices.
