Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineer for the Nuclear Power Group to lead digital upgrade projects in major power plant programs. The role requires a BS in engineering (ABET) and 20+ years of I&C design experience in heavy industrial plants, plus proven ability to liaise with clients and review complex drawings.

Qualifications

• We have a BS in engineering and ABET accreditation, plus extensive I&C design experience.
• 20+ years of instrumentation and controls design in heavy industrial plants.
• Experience reviewing design drawings and coordinating with clients and vendors.
• Proven ability to liaise with firm/client in a lead engineering role.
• Knowledge of pre-engineered systems and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects.
• Direct technical decision making in a project team with engineers and designers.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve I&C engineering issues.
• Coordinate system design to meet specifications, codes and client requirements.
• Perform Digital Systems Design Development—PLC, DCS, HSI and networks.
• Prepare and review equipment purchase specifications.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope.
• Support station outage activities as required.
