Job summary

Leidos is seeking a talented Hypersonics Design Engineer to join its Defense Systems hypersonics line. You will support design and development of mechanical components for advanced hypersonic vehicles, create TDP artifacts, and work with PLM and GD&T.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform tolerancing analyses, participate in design reviews, and help select materials and manufacturing processes for aerospace and defense applications.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and PLM environments.
• GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5 and basic tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and configuration management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to lead and participate in design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for advanced hypersonic vehicles.
• Create and maintain Technical Data Package (TDP) artifacts including drawings, BOMs and specs.
• Manage interface control drawings and related engineering documentation.
• Perform tolerance analyses and engineering calculations to verify design requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
