Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking a high-impact technical leader for Chief Engineer to guide hypersonic targets programs from Mojave, CA. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, set technical strategy, manage risk, and ensure successful program execution for air-launched targets.

The role requires senior-level experience in missile or hypersonic flight vehicle development, strong communication, and the ability to balance cost, schedule, and performance while interfacing with government customers.

• Experience integrating complex systems across disciplines.
• Strong communication with government customers and internal/external teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to drive program execution.
• Apply Systems Engineering to control scope and risk.
• Lead technical meetings and gate reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Lead trade studies and final technical decisions across aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, airframe, GNC, payloads.
• Create staffing plans and identify skill gaps.
• Support proposals and business development activities.
