Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead its hypersonic targets portfolio, directing open-ended development with a focus on missiles and related systems. You will manage risk, lead a multidisciplinary team, and communicate with government and industry customers from Mojave, CA.

The role emphasizes systems engineering, program execution, and technical leadership in a dynamic environment requiring US citizenship and clearance readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
Demonstrated success as engineering team leader balancing cost, schedule and technical performance.

Responsibilities

Partner with leadership to drive program execution.
Apply systems engineering to control scope, risk and quality.
Lead technical meetings and reviews (ERB, gate reviews).
Lead trade studies and make final technical decisions across aero, propulsion, avionics, airframe, GNC and payloads.
Create staffing plans and identify skill gaps in the team.
Support proposals and business development activities.
