Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Cloud Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. The role focuses on identifying cloud automation solutions, leveraging telemetry, and driving improvements across hyperscale infrastructure.

You will write and maintain tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++, analyze hardware failure data, and collaborate with global teams to increase fleet uptime and efficiency in a rapidly scaling environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/CE or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in production systems engineering or data center operations.
• 7+ years of hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or cloud data center ops.
• Experience developing systems software or automation tooling for Linux at scale.
• Experience with configuring and maintaining production systems (web servers, load balancers, databases, storage).
• Ability to communicate technical designs through written docs and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the cloud server fleet to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and cloud automation tooling.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams.
• Drive the escalation process to identify, root cause, and resolve complex tooling and hardware issues.
• Execute operational validation for new cloud product integration into production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional cloud tooling teams on roadmap contributions.
• Perform deep data analysis to prioritize automation opportunities for server repair workflows.
• Build cross-functional relationships to improve global data center operations efficiency.
• Mentor engineers on evaluating cloud fleet issues and tool improvements.
• Travel up to 25% to support global data center operations and new site deployments.
