Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Cloud Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. The role focuses on identifying cloud automation solutions, driving code-based improvements, and collaborating with global teams to optimize hyperscale data center performance.

The candidate will analyze data, develop diagnostic tooling, and influence roadmaps while supporting up to 25% travel for site deployments and global operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years in production systems engineering for large-scale cloud environments.
• 7+ years in hardware lifecycle management, fleet automation, or data center operations.
• Experience developing systems software or automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux-scale production environments.
• Experience with web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage, and messaging systems.
• Ability to communicate technical designs in writing and align with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the cloud server fleet and drive resolutions to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and cloud automation tooling that supports production must-deliverables.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations teams to manage and repair the cloud server fleet.
• Drive escalation for Data Center Operations to identify root cause and resolve complex tooling and hardware issues.
• Execute operational validation and verification for new cloud product integration into production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional cloud tooling teams to provide an operations-centric perspective and contribute to roadmaps.
• Perform deep data analysis to prioritize cloud automation opportunities for server repair workflows in large-scale hardware environments.
• Build cross-functional relationships to improve global data center operations consistency and efficiency.
• Mentor engineers on evaluating and resolving fleet issues and improving tools and processes.
• Travel up to 25% to support global data center operations and new site deployments.
