Job summary

State of Delaware’s Division of Water – Commercial and Government Services seeks a Hydrologist V to serve as the Division’s senior hydrologic technical expert. You will lead hydrogeologic evaluations, review complex public water supply permits, develop guidance, and mentor staff while coordinating with agencies to improve permitting efficiency and protect groundwater.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in geology, hydrology or related field or a Bachelors with PG registration.
• Professional Geologist registration required or equivalent recognition.

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and interprets field samples, literature and data.
• Supervises and documents the installation of wells and inspects data from wells and disposal sites.
• Summarizes data used in studies, plans and research.
• Performs mathematical calculations to aid in selecting alternatives.
• Reviews permit applications and provides regulatory information.
• Leads hydrogeologic evaluations and supports permitting modernization.

Education

Master's degree in geology, hydrology or related field

Professional Geologist certification/registration
