Job summary

DNREC's Division of Water seeks an Environmental Scientist II to support the Water Allocation Branch of the Water Supply Section. You will analyze analytical data, review regulatory submissions, and assist in issuing permit applications, conducting investigations, and maintaining databases.

Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, responding to inquiries from agencies and the public, and participating in public outreach and education to promote wise water use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, or Applied Science or related field.
  • One year of experience analyzing and evaluating scientific data.
  • One year of experience interpreting laws, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • One year of experience in technical report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts field studies or inspections to ensure compliance with permit and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs statistical analysis of data.
  • conducts technical reviews and makes recommendations on permit applications to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Prepares permits, technical reports, and enforcement documents.
  • Responds to technical/regulatory inquiries from other agencies or the public.
